‘The Gift of Spring’
The first piece in the series is ‘The Gift of Spring’.
A wonderful ode to the end of winter: ‘gift-wrapped’ daffodils to signal the arrival of the season.
The Inspiration…
This collection is inspired by the way the city transforms as the seasons begin to shift.
Winter brings out the grey-ness in the sky and concrete. The city feels busy, and functional.
Then warmer weather arrives.
For a moment, the city feels less mechanical and more alive. Light returns. Colours reappear. People pause a little longer outside. The same streets feel different.
In these works, nature and the city meet in unexpected ways, and the ordinary becomes something more dreamlike.
